Developed through the collaboration of TechGenesys and Crumble, CrumbSense transforms traditional food quality inspection by replacing manual, subjective evaluation with an intelligent automated inspection platform. By integrating state-of-the-art computer vision directly into the production workflow, CrumbSense enables manufacturers to perform accurate, repeatable, and real-time quality assessments improving operational efficiency, reducing inspection variability, and supporting data-driven production decisions. Key Features & Capabilities AI-Powered Cookie Identification Utilizes a custom-trained YOLO11 deep learning model to automatically detect, segment, and classify multiple cookie varieties in real time. The system accurately identifies individual baked products while simultaneously performing quality analysis on each detected item. Precision Computer Vision & Metrology Employs advanced image processing techniques to perform millimeter-level dimensional analysis using Feret diameter measurements, through-center chord calculations, and geometric evaluation. The system accurately measures product size, shape consistency, elongation, and dimensional variations to ensure compliance with production specifications. Intelligent Baking Quality Assessment Analyzes product color using HSV-based computer vision algorithms to evaluate baking consistency and determine browning quality. The system detects under-baked, over-baked, and inconsistently baked products through automated color distribution and quality scoring. Real-Time Defect Detection Automatically identifies production defects including irregular shapes, dimensional inconsistencies, lopsided products, and surface anomalies. Instant inspection results allow manufacturers to detect quality issues early and take corrective action before products reach customers. Industrial Inspection Workflow Designed for production environments with Raspberry Pi integration, high-resolution camera support, GPIO-based hardware controls, and one-touch image capture. The system delivers rapid inspections while maintaining a streamlined workflow suitable for continuous manufacturing operations.
